Finnish Household Tax Deduction
Deduct up to 40% of the labour cost of your renovation from your Finnish taxes
If you are liable for tax in Finland, you can use the household tax deduction (kotitalousvähennys) on the labour portion of your invoice when you buy a renovation from EK-Remontti. The deduction is taken directly off the tax you owe, so the benefit is concrete.
Example
Labour cost of a bathroom renovation €5,000 → (€5,000 − €150 excess) × 40% = €1,940 tax deduction. Spouses can each claim the deduction on their own share of the cost.
These figures are based on the temporarily increased household tax deduction for 2026–2027. The deduction applies only to the labour portion, not materials, and requires that the company is registered for advance collection (ennakkoperintärekisteri). Please verify current details and your own situation at vero.fi (the Finnish Tax Administration).
How to claim the deduction
- Order your renovation from EK-Remontti – we are registered for advance collection.
- You receive an invoice with the labour and material costs itemised separately.
- You report the labour cost as a household tax deduction in OmaVero (the Finnish Tax Administration's online service).
